It is the goal of the SDL to provide a safe, rich and rewarding experience for the player. The SDL has established a standard set of expectations of conduct by coaches, players, parents and referees. Please ensure that you are familiar with your obligation to understand and adhere to the applicable standards of behavior so that together we can provide the best league possible for the kids. The SDL welcomes any suggestion of how to accomplish this goal and make this a better league.
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
I will do my best to work hard, play fair and have fun playing SDL soccer.
I will always show respect toward the coaches, league officials, referees, my teammates and my opponent.
I will demonstrate good sportsmanship by my actions and behavior and will abide by the rules and regulations of the SDL.
I will never play with the intent to cause harm to any other player.
PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
I will remember that I am my child’s most important role model.
I will stress to my child and demonstrate by my behavior the importance of good sportsmanship toward coaches, other players, parents, and officials.
I will place the emotional well-being of all the children ahead of a personal desire to win.
I will respect the coaches and allow them to coach and instruct the players during the game without my interference.
I understand that I am accountable for my behavior at the game and that I will adhere to the spirit of this Parent Code of Conduct.
COACH CODE OF CONDUCT
I will remember that I am a youth soccer coach and that playing in the SDL should be a fun experience for all participants.
I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win.
I will do my best to teach good sportsmanship to all the players and parents through my own words and actions toward game officials, other coaches, parents and players.
I will take responsibility for my team’s players and parents to ensure that they act in a respectful manner toward all players, coaches and officials.
I will abide by the Laws of Soccer and the rules and regulations of the SDL.
REFEREE CODE OF CONDUCT
I will remember that as a youth soccer official, I am seen as a role model and an educator of the game; my behavior and attitude will demonstrate a polite, courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
I will handle disputes with coaches, players and parents calmly and respectfully.
I will not tolerate nor allow abusive behavior or language.
I will know the rules and regulations of the SDL and manage the game to the best of my abilities as a referee, beginning with my own punctuality.
